Pressure is a permanent installation made for the Prairie Line Trail in Tacoma. This was the first section of rail to reach Puget Sound, only a few hundred meters from the sculpture location. The sculpture is designed to be an inside out abstract representation of steam engines. This embrace of the technology of the era went as far as hand-riveting the boiler section at the base. It was exhausting, but the end result was worth it.
